About this event

Good mates. Bad swings. Nobody walks alone.

A one-day charity scramble for people who can debate a putter for 45 minutes but sometimes struggle to say, “Mate, I am having a hard week.” Bring your best friend, your questionable swing and the version of yourself that does not have to have it all together.

A serious cause. An unserious scorecard.

Our fictional beneficiary, the Off the Back Nine Fund, helps men navigating grief, isolation and difficult life changes access counseling and welcoming peer-support groups. The irony belongs to golf: we will search for a lost ball together for ten minutes, so we can certainly make time to check in on a friend. Nobody has to share a personal story to take part.

All genders, partners, friends and first-time golfers are welcome. “Bro” is a spirit of looking out for each other, not an admission requirement. Competitive banter is welcome; humiliation is not.

The plan

A friendly four-person scramble, optional practice clinic, lunch on the turn, a clubhouse supper and awards for both excellent golf and magnificent effort. All program times are local to Bend, Oregon. The organizer will arrange playing groups from your preferences; this demo does not automatically book foursomes or allocate tee times.

Example admission: $150 for golf, practice clinic, lunch and supper; $45 for supper only. Volunteer places are assigned by organizers. Donations and sponsor packages are future features, not purchases offered by this page.

Entirely fictional demo: event, course, charity, people and prices. No real fundraiser, booking, counseling service or charitable donation is represented.

Demo group booking conditions

FICTIONAL DEMO ONLY – not a real tournament, fundraiser or purchase.

A foursome reserves four adult places. Golf + good company is $150 per person; clubhouse supper only is $45 per person. The review shows the exact total for your selected mix. Four golf places total $600. No donation or sponsorship is included, and no charitable receipt is issued.

The booker explicitly agrees to be the named payer; accepted adults may also contribute. The full group total is required before staff confirm places. The temporary reservation lasts seven days and is not renewed by revisiting the booking. Card checkout is unavailable: do not send real money. Staff may record synthetic contributions for demonstration only.

Each adult accepts their own invitation and, after confirmation, completes their own private details and consent. A booking is not a tee-time assignment, and the booker is not automatically a golfer.

For this example, cancellation before staff confirmation carries no fee. After confirmation, the example policy permits a full refund of recorded synthetic admission payments when requested at least seven days before the event; later requests and substitutions require organizer review. Nothing cancels, transfers or refunds automatically. If organizers cancel the fictional event, the example policy is a full refund of synthetic admission payments. Contact the organizer to demonstrate any adjustment.
